About me

My style is warm and supportive. I will work with you to help you understand yourself in new and insightful ways.

I believe that one size does not fit all, That is why I employ a variety of evidence based therapies to meet your individual needs.

I became a counsellor when, after working for over thirty years as a Registered Mental Health Nurse on hospital wards, in Accident and Emergency and as point of contact for NHS Direct, a telephone support service, I decided to explore the effectiveness of psychological as opposed to medical therapies by qualifying as a counsellor.

Having studied and subsequently qualified as a counsellor (whilst continuing to work on the wards as an RMN), I decided on a career change and in 2011 began my role of Child and Adolescent Mental Heath Therapist and ADHD Specialist Nurse with Cheshire and Wirral NHS Trust.

I now have my own private practice whist still working with children and adolescents in a number of local schools.; I have also volunteered as a counsellor with Macmillan and nationally recognised organisation for clients and carers with drug and alcohol difficulties.

My varied client base offers many challenges but the work is incredibly rewarding and I consider it a privilege to do the work I do.

I pride myself in offering a professional and confidential service. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists and a retired member of the Nursing Midwifery Council and I work within their ethical frameworks.

I take my ongoing education and training very seriously and stay on the cutting edge of evidence based theory and practice.
